It is with great excitement that I warmly welcome all staff and faculty back to Bodkin for the 2014-2015 school year! We will spend this week gearing up for a year of Sweet Success!
Joining our team this year, we have the following new staff members:
When you meet them, make sure to welcome them to our community. We sure are glad they are here! In just a few days, we'll be sending home a Back to School newsletter and you'll get to learn a little bit about each of our new staff members. Earlier this summer, I emailed to let you know that our kindergarten numbers were low. They still are! We currently have 68 students registered for kindergarten. Since we have a large first grade group, we were able to shift a position from kindergarten to first grade. Many thanks to Mrs. Solano for her flexibility and willingness to shift grades. Teacher assignment letters were mailed to students in grades 1-5 on Friday afternoon. If you have not received yours yet, please give the mail another two or three days before calling the main office. We hope you will be able to join us for New Student Orientation on Thursday from 1:30-2:30 and for Meet the Teacher for students in grades 1-5 from 2:30-3:30. Enjoy the last week of summer! We can't wait to see your shining smiles on Thursday and to kick of the school year together on Monday, August 25th! Ms. Amstutz As we prepare to kick-off the 2014-2015 school year, we are excited to debut our new blog, The Bodkin Bulldog Bulletin.
Why blog? you may ask. There are a few simple answers to the question: 1). TO COMMUNICATE -- We created the blog as another avenue to share information with our community. It is our hope that this blog will provide you greater access to information 2). TO SHARE- We hope that the blog will provide you a first hand look at the wonderful learning that happens in our classrooms and school each day. 3) TO EMBRACE TECHNOLOGY - Since the world has embraced digital communication, it's important that our school does so as well. This blog will serve as a model for our students for communicating with audiences both near and far. 4). TO CONNECT -- Not only will this blog allow us to connect with our families and the local community, we hope we will be able to connect with other elementary schools, experts and others both near and far. In short, we hope that our blog will offer you helpful information, interesting insights, and a front row seat to all the amazing things happening at our school. We hope you will follow our blog, subscribe to it and participate on it. Leave comments, ask questions, join the discussion! |
