Excerpts from Opening Remarks"Good evening and welcome to Bodkin’s Back to School Night! We are delighted to see a packed house tonight and appreciate your investment and involvement in your child’s education. It is going to be a year full of Sweet Success!
I am Rachel Amstutz, the new principal here at Bodkin. Before we get started tonight, I would like to take a moment to thank you for the very warm welcome I've received since my appointment early this summer. It was such a delight to meet so many of you at Menchie’s before school started. As you already know, this is an amazing school. Every corner I turn, I find even more amazing-ness and success! We are so very fortunate to have such an awesome, dedicated team of teachers and staff devoted to our students, their learning, and their social and emotional development. It is my honor and privilege to join this incredible team!"
Introduction of our Amazing Faculty and Staff
"On the second day of school, we were thrilled to be visited by our new Superintendent, Dr. George Arlotto. As he walked through our halls and classrooms it was clear that he is all about students and teachers but that he also has a fantastic vision for the future of teaching and learning in our county! We are on the beginning of a journey in our county. This journey that will transform what we know of school and learning. His goal is that we make school irresistible for students and that they have fun throughout the learning process. This doesn't mean that we will toss aside the fundamentals of education. Our main emphasis here in elementary school is laying a rock solid foundation for students across all disciplines."
