Attention all 4th and 5th Grade Families,
The “Bodkin Striders” is a running club that meets at Bodkin’s track on Fridays only beginning March 9th and ending on Friday, May 11th. If your child likes to run and wants to improve their aerobic endurance and have fun with friends, please join us. We meet in the mornings before school from 8:45am until 9:15am on the track. If it is raining we will still meet, but in the gym. This will be open to all 4th and 5th grade students. I am also looking for some parent volunteers who would like to help me. Students will run for fun around our track and log their mileage for 30 minutes. There will be no striders on Friday, March 30th (spring break) and on Friday, April 27th. All students will need appropriate running attire and sneakers as well as water and possibly a change of clothes for the school day to start.
*PLEASE NOTE* Children may not be dropped off before 8:45am as there is not adult supervision before that time.
We will train for a local 5K (still trying to find one). The 5K will be open to the public so anyone can run.
If interested, please return a permission slip by Wednesday, March 7th. Permission slips were given to all students last week. Any questions, please email Mrs. Corey. [email protected]
Thank you very much!
