Visit the Bodkin Media Center and take a peek at our new art work decorating our media center walls! At the end of last year, the PTA commissioned our very own Jacki Cockcroft to create some new artwork for Bodkin. Mrs. Cockcroft and Mrs. Major were asked to collaborate on the location of the art as well as the idea. Mrs. Cockcroft’s experience with string art along with Bodkin’s close proximity to the Bodkin, Wharf, Main, and Back Creeks, made this nautical piece an obvious choice. The sting art is flanked by turtle and crab wooden cutouts. The string art alone was made with 657 nails, 1 mile of fishing line, and 30 hours of labor. Ask your child about what they have learned about this artwork during their art class.
