The cold and flu season is upon us. Please review with your child a few healthy habits that can keep the whole family feeling well. Offer lots of fluids to drink, and provide an early bedtime to ensure adequate rest. For chapped lips, treatment at home should suffice: chap stick before school, after school, and at bedtime should do the trick! Try to keep hands away from the face. Encourage frequent hand washing to prevent spread of germs and illnesses. All of this will help stop colds before they start. According to our medication guidelines, students are not allowed to use cough drops or any other over-the-counter medicines at school without the appropriate medical form signed by the parent and the Physician. Please keep your child home if he or she has experienced vomiting, diarrhea, or a fever of 100 or above within the past 24 hours. Call the health room if you have any questions or if we can be of any assistance (410) 437-1418.
