Hello Bodkin families,
Aloha! My name is Dana Kirby and I’m thrilled to be joining the Bodkin Elementary staff as the new .5 Global Studies teacher. I’m beginning my 21st year of teaching in Anne Arundel County and have held a variety of positions, including classroom teacher, mentor, mathematics resource teacher, and most recently, STEM teacher at Woodside Elementary. I’m a graduate of Anne Arundel County Public Schools and earned both my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Master’s Degree in Administration and Supervision from Loyola University in Maryland. Having had an amazing experience as a student in AACPS, I feel especially fortunate to have the opportunity to teach the next generation of students. Beyond work, I’m a wife and a mother to two girls, ages 13 and 10. I enjoy reading, attempting to garden, and crafting with my girls. I love animals and have one dog, three cats, and one bearded dragon! I also love traveling with my family and visited Hawaii this summer. I can’t wait to get to know the students and families here and become a member of the Bodkin family.
